“Don’t try to sneak in through the window. Just come boldly onto stage, like come right through the door with your choice. Kill the judge in your head and just take action.”  - Mick Napier

  2. "When it comes to comedy, it might be interesting to know why an airplane works, but really? Maybe it’s better not to know why certain things work. Just fly the thing, and if nothing falls apart, you’ll be fine."
    — Bill Hader

  4. "The hearts truth can only be found in the heart."
    — Jon Gotnip

  5. "In improv there are no mistakes, only beautiful happy accidents. And many of the world’s greatest discoveries have been by accident. I mean, look at the Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup, or Botox."
    — Tina Fey

  6. "Do your thing and don’t care if they like it."
    — iO alumni, Tina Fey

  8. The Reckoning at 10pm, you don’t want to miss their awesome sauce.

I don’t know about you but I am super jazzed for the line-up this evening at iO West….check out The Reckoning.

    The Reckoning at 10pm

For over a decade, the Reckoning has played to packed houses and critical acclaim at iO Chicago and toured across the country with their singular brand of long-form improvisation. Hailed as “hands-down, the best in Chicago” and “a versatile rock band” of improvisers, they are known for their unpredictable shows and forms, as well as experimentation and innovation as ensemble.
The five members who now call Los Angeles home bring the Reckoning’s unique style to the iO West Mainstage.
“A powerhouse of improvised brilliance, developing the sort of close interpersonal relationships that result in abundant onstage chemistry” – The Onion A.V. Club
“Every once in awhile, a team comes along that elevates the form above the everyday… such is the case with the Reckoning” – TimeOut Chicago
“While there are many funny troupes out there, there aren’t nearly as many who can truly act, who can fully maintain the integrity of their characters. You don’t have to worry about that with The Reckoning.” – Charleston City Paper
“…a psychotic dreamscape of madcap comedy.” – The Bastion
“See them while you still can.” – NewCity

  9. "The greatest gift that you’re ever going to have is your imagination because you’re not going to have all life experiences. So you draw on things that are sort of close to it but you spend your time expanding on it or drawing something specific on whatever your situation is."
    — iO alum Vince Vaughn

  10. "The improv, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t, but when it does, it’s like open-field running."
    — Robin Williams
